W75/M75 World Records at Combined Events Challenge in Stendal (GER)

At the 7th STENDALER-HANSE-CUP (1 to 2 July 2019 in Stendal, Gemany) two world records fell in the Combined Events. Riet Jonkers-Slegers from the Netherlands improved the world record W75 in the heptathlon to 6,870 points. The German Rolf Geese set a world record in the decathlon M75 with 8,538 points. The event was attended by 90 athletes from 14 nations. Including Geraldine Finegan and Rosemariy Gibson from Ireland in the decathlon.

World records have become a tradition at the STENDALER-HANSE-CUP. The two records were the numbers 10 and 11.

The Dutchwoman Riet Jonkers-Slegers set the basis for the world record in the 80m short hurdles in 17.73 with 1,182 points, finished the 200m in 35.32 breaking the listed Dutch record and finished the heptathlon at a day in 30 degree heat with an admirable 3:12.73 seconds in the 800m run. With 6,870 points she surpassed the listed world record in hepathlon W75 by 212 points held by Austrian Marianne Maier, dating back to 2018.

Rolf Geese (GER) achieved a strong improvement of the world record in decathlon M75 with 8,538 points. He improved the previous listed M75 world record of the American Robert Hewitt in 2008 by 628 points.
